We were delighted that our summer concert this year was part of the 400th anniversary celebrations marking Banbury being awarded the Town Charter in 1608. A highlight of the concert was the premier of a piece especially commissioned for the concert to celebrate the charter anniversary and written by local composer Nick Planas.

Christmas concert enjoyed by audience of 450!

Our biggest audience of the year enjoyed a wonderful Christmas family concert.

Highlights included Daniel Strivens (Banbury Young Musician of the Year 2006) playing the two central movements of Mozart’s famous horn concerto. We were also treated to the world premier of local composer and orchestra member Nick Planas’s new work; “Dance of the Elves”.

A huge thank you is due to the Rotary Club of Banbury for all of their efforts to get such a large audience, and for all of their help in organisation. As soon as we know what was raised for charity, we will post the information here.
